Description

Arkadia VR Arena is a self-contained, multiplayer VR arcade system from Inowize (Iasi, Romania). It runs up to six players at a time in PvP and co-op games on a 225–285 sq ft footprint. Sessions average 7 minutes. The system supports two concurrent games, so an operator can run one group of two players and start another group of four immediately without waiting for the first to finish.

Arkadia runs on PCVR headsets. The game library includes seven titles as of 2023, with most designed for player-vs-player competition. The system requires one operator. Inowize provides 24/7 tech support. US distribution and support is handled by Amusement Products.

The six-player capacity is 50% higher than most tethered VR arena systems, which typically max out at four. That matters for larger friend groups and families. The dual-game capability increases throughput — operators can serve smaller groups back-to-back without idle time between sessions.

Arkadia targets family entertainment centers and arcades serving guests 8 and up. Typical pricing runs around $8 per play. The system includes an attract-mode display for spectators. It was introduced in 2019.

Review from Bob Cooney's 2022/2023 VR Arcade Game Buyer's Guide:

Arkadia VR Arena

Arkadia from Inowize is probably the closest competitor to Hologate in the tethered, multiplayer VR arena segment of the market. But that’s like being the second largest brewery in the world behind AB Inbev (makers of Budweiser and almost every other beer you might drink).

Arkadia has two unique benefits you want to consider. First, it can handle six players at a time, which increases the capacity by 50% over other products in this category, letting you handle larger groups of friends and families.

They also let two games run simultaneously. So, if you have a group of two players, the attendant can start that game, and then run another group of up to four immediately without waiting for the first group to play. This amps up the throughput. In a time with labor constraints, these two factors set Arkadia apart.

Inowize has quietly built its library up to seven games, with an eighth coming at IAAPA. Most of their games are player-vsplayer. For my opinion on that, see the sidebar Cut the Crap: Competitive Socialization.
