WW1 Line Of Fire is a free-roam PCVR experience set in the trenches of Verdun during World War I. Players take the role of French soldiers defending their trench over three in-game days against German infantry, artillery, air strikes, and tanks. The experience accommodates 1 to 4 players and runs 30 to 40 minutes. Gameplay is inspired by historical accounts from WWI soldiers; the scriptwriting received support from the Centre National du Cinéma for historical and artistic authenticity.
Players use rifles and can switch weapons to counter attacking forces. Hidden objects within the trench environment unlock defensive enhancements and air strike capabilities. The experience progresses through three days with shifting visual atmospheres that reflect escalating danger. Collaborative tactical decisions allow the group to improve offensive or defensive positioning.
WW1 Line Of Fire supports multiple free-roam configurations with play area sizes ranging from 4.9 x 3.7 metres to 8.8 x 3.7 metres. The experience is available in English and French and offers a bloodless mode. A 15-minute version is available for shorter sessions or corporate events. Compatibility with haptic peripherals including Protube VR and bHaptics vests is supported.
WW1 Line Of Fire is available on the SynthesisVR platform, which provides turnkey deployment, and on Octopod. The experience is optimized for SynthesisVR systems and offers offline multiplayer support. Marketing materials are provided. A suggested age limit is 12 and above.
