Epic Universe Augmented Reality Preview Center Opens in Orlando

Universal Orlando has unveiled the Epic Universe Preview Center on CityWalk, offering an advanced look into the highly anticipated Epic Universe theme park, set to open in 2025. This center uses augmented reality (AR) to provide an immersive sneak peek into the park’s attractions, allowing visitors to explore what the future holds for Universal’s third theme park.

Immersive AR Experience

Central to the preview is a detailed model of the entire Epic Universe park. Visitors can use the Epic Universe Preview AR app to scan specific parts of the model marked by AR signs. This innovative tool brings attractions and dining locations to life on their smartphones, providing a rich, interactive experience that enhances their understanding and excitement for what’s to come.

What to Expect

Epic Universe will feature five uniquely themed lands, each accessible via portals. Key attractions include:

  • Celestial Park: The main hub with elegant gardens, dynamic fountains, a charming carousel, and Stardust Racers, a steel dueling coaster.
  • How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk: An immersive Viking world with adventure play areas, flying dragon experiences, and live shows.
  • Dark Universe: Inspired by classic Universal monsters, this land offers eerie attractions centered around iconic creatures.
  • Super Nintendo World: Featuring cutting-edge rides, themed retail shops, and engaging dining experiences, including the highly anticipated Mine-Cart Madness coaster.
  • The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic: Transporting guests to magical realms from the 1920s Paris and the British Ministry of Magic, complete with new attractions and immersive theming.

Enhancing the Visitor Experience

The Epic Universe Preview Center not only showcases the park’s future attractions but also demonstrates how technology can transform visitor engagement. The use of AR in the preview center exemplifies Universal’s commitment to integrating advanced technology into their theme park experiences, promising a new level of immersion and interaction for guests.
