The MICHELIN Guide Germany awarded its first star to Eatrenalin on June 23 2026 in Frankfurt. Eatrenalin is a restaurant at Europa-Park in Rust. themepark-central, reporting the ceremony, quoted the Guide describing Eatrenalin as an “einzigartiges, geradezu futuristisches Gastro-Erlebnis”, a unique and almost futuristic gastronomic experience. The Guide praises modern, internationally influenced dishes made from top products and balanced precisely on taste.
The star was given for the cooking.
Peter Hagen-Wiest has led Eatrenalin’s kitchen since May 2025 as culinary director. He also runs Ammolite – House of Light at Europa-Park, which holds two Michelin stars. That restaurant reopened on March 17 2026 after a redesign and kept both stars in the same guide cycle. That puts three Michelin stars across two restaurants inside one theme park resort.
Eatrenalin’s current menu runs under the name Hagen-Wiest & Friends. Guest chefs each design one course, matched to the room it is served in. The Austrian chefs Hans Neuner and Dieter Koschina took courses on the menu presented from June 25. The guest list rotates.
The Floating Chair is a patented development by MACK Rides of Waldkirch, the ride manufacturer inside the same family business as Europa-Park. Each chair is built from almost 2,100 components, weighs 320 kilograms, and took eighteen months to develop. Guests are carried between rooms in different seating arrangements, in a circle, facing each other or side by side, while the room changes around them.
Thomas Mack is founder and chief executive of Eatrenalin and a managing partner of Europa-Park. Oliver Altherr was then chief executive of Marché International. The two had the idea during a visit to the park’s Voletarium flying theatre. Eatrenalin opened in November 2022. It already held a Themed Entertainment Association Thea Award for Experiential Dining Attraction before the Michelin star arrived.
Eatrenalin opens Thursday to Monday from 5pm until at least 1am. The guided experience runs over two hours, and the venue advises guests to allow three hours including the lounge beforehand and the bar afterwards. The ticket covers the eight courses, the matched drinks, parking and the cloakroom. Minimum age is ten, a limit set by TÜV for the Floating Chair rather than by the kitchen. Solo guests are seated with other parties, and a single booking runs up to sixteen people.
The guided experience runs more than two hours, past the ninety-minute commitment threshold. The venue does not publish a per-person price, a seat count or a guests-per-evening figure.
Eatrenalin’s star recognises the cooking. An operator costing an F&B attachment to an attraction has two things to check: whether the cooking would earn a rating on its own, and whether the building can carry a two-hour seating.
