Description

Beyond Medusa’s Gate is a 60-minute VR escape room built inside the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey game world. Developed by Ubisoft Düsseldorf, it places two to four players in a coastal cave in Ancient Greece where the legendary ship of the Argonauts is hidden. The mission: solve the puzzles, find the ship, and escape before time runs out.

Players start by choosing one of six avatars and customizing them with period-accurate Greek accessories. Once inside the Animus, the environment is full Assassin’s Creed Odyssey: the art, the architecture, the atmosphere. The cave itself is the puzzle, and players explore, communicate, and coordinate to progress.

This is a room-scale experience designed for co-op play. The puzzles require teamwork. Players split up, share information, and solve problems together under time pressure. It is built for two or four players, and the difficulty scales to the group size.

Beyond Medusa’s Gate works for families, history fans, Assassin’s Creed players, and escape room groups looking for a VR version of what they already do in physical venues. The 60-minute runtime and puzzle difficulty make it a good fit for venues targeting repeat visitors who want narrative content with replay value.

The experience runs on PCVR and supports PICO 4, Quest, and VIVE Focus headsets. Space requirement is 3×3 or 6×6 meters depending on configuration. It is software-only, so operators integrate it into their existing VR setup.
