A VR horror escape room for 1–4 players. Trapped in an abandoned cabin at night, solve puzzles to uncover the cabin’s dark past and find a way out before something finds you.
House of Fear is a VR horror escape room for 1–4 players. You wake up locked inside an abandoned cabin in the woods at night. No electricity. Cobwebs stretch across the corners. Furniture falling apart. The only light comes from a single candle barely holding on.
The doors and windows are locked or boarded shut. You need to solve puzzles built into the environment to find a way out. Each puzzle solved reveals more about the cabin’s past and the people who lived here before you. The game plays on psychological horror — flickering shadows in the candlelight, creaking floorboards, and the constant sense that you’re not alone.
The puzzles are accessible for newcomers to escape rooms, but the atmosphere does the real work. The game blurs the line between tricks of the light and something worse. As you piece together the cabin’s history, the stakes get clearer: this isn’t just about escaping a locked room.
House of Fear runs on PCVR and works with PICO 4, Quest, and VIVE Focus headsets. Released in October 2019 for the VRP 2.0 platform. Rated for ages 16 and up. Room-scale VR setup required.
If you operate an escape room venue or family entertainment center looking for horror content that doesn’t rely on jump scares, this is worth evaluating. The experience lasts long enough to justify premium pricing and the difficulty curve keeps groups engaged without frustrating them.
