Laserbots is a 2–5 player cooperative VR experience in which participants defend against malfunctioning robots for 10 minutes using laser swords, shields, and a chargeable cannon. An educational version for museums and science centers integrates demonstrations of light behavior.
Laserbots is a cooperative free-roam VR experience for 2–5 players. The scenario places participants in a 10-minute survival mission: a spaceship has crashed, its robots have malfunctioned, and the group must hold out until rescue arrives. Players use virtual laser swords and shields to deflect incoming attacks, collect energy crystals, and charge a defensive laser cannon.
The experience includes adjustable difficulty and a Hard Mode. An educational variant exists for libraries, museums, and science centers, incorporating interactive demonstrations of light reflection, beam manipulation, and color splitting alongside the gameplay.
Laserbots runs on PCVR and standalone headsets and is available on the vrCAVE VR Escape Rooms platform. The experience supports HTC VIVE, VIVE Pro/Pro 2, HTC VIVE Focus 3, Valve Index, Meta Quest/2, and PICO 4.
