Description

SpongeBob VR Bubble Coaster is a two-seat VR simulator cabinet manufactured by Andamiro in collaboration with Rilix. The cabinet runs three SpongeBob SquarePants-themed roller coaster episodes set in Bikini Bottom. Licensed Nickelodeon IP.

The cabinet seats two guests side by side. No motion base — instead, the experience uses butt-kicker vibration motors in the seats and directional fans to simulate movement. Headsets are tethered HD units. The cabinet is designed for unattended operation in family entertainment centers, arcades, and malls.

Rilix operates hundreds of these cabinets unattended across the US and Brazil. The product’s design reduces motion sickness compared to full-motion VR simulators — the vibration-and-wind approach is gentler on guests who are sensitive to movement.

The three episodes are gamified: guests navigate through Bikini Bottom environments on a coaster track. Rilix offers a broader library of fantasy coaster content that can also run on this platform.

Footprint is 24.5 square feet. Cabinet dimensions: 50″ wide, 70″ deep, 105″ tall. Designed for high-traffic locations where floor space and reliability matter.

Review from Bob Cooney's 2022/2023 VR Arcade Game Buyer's Guide:

SpongeBob VR Bubble Coaster

Rilix is a company making a name for itself with an inexpensive VR simulator ride. Rilix has a library of dozens of fantasy coasters, but their collaboration with Andamiro on the SpongeBob Bubble Coaster is their highlight product. Think Typhoon meets VR.

Rilix is priced well below the other products in this category. The cost savings come because there’s no motion base. They use butt-kickers in the seat to create vibration, and wind makes a sense of speed. I’m less prone to motion sickness on the Rilix simulator than on the actual motion rides.

Rilix operates hundreds of units unattended in malls across the US and Brazil, so the product has proven reliable. If you’re looking for a low-cost, reliable VR coaster, Rilix Coaster is worth checking out.
