Description

Synth Riders is a music rhythm game packaged in VRsenal’s standalone VR cabinet — a self-contained unit designed for arcades, family entertainment centers, and other high-throughput venues.

Players hit, slide, and dodge in time to the music. The game launched with 20 songs across multiple genres (rock, pop, country, metal) and five difficulty levels. The tracks are licensed music, not procedurally generated background loops, which matters for replayability and word-of-mouth.

The cabinet uses an HTC Vive Focus 3 headset and runs on VRsenal’s Monolith platform. VRsenal manufactures the unit in Tennessee and provides US support. The cabinet includes a 50-inch 4K LED spectator display with backlit graphics that pulse to the music — designed to attract passing traffic.

The unit requires no attendant. Players queue, pay, and play without staff intervention. Throughput is 12 plays per hour at an average 4-minute session length. Operators report pricing at $3-5 per play.

The cabinet footprint is 7.25 square feet (58 inches wide, 18 inches deep, 7 feet tall). Power requirement is 8 amps at 110-120V US or 4 amps at 220-240V international. VRsenal includes a 2-year warranty on the headset cable.

Synth Riders works for venues looking for active, family-friendly content that isn’t shooting or horror. The rhythm-game format appeals to players who want physical movement without combat. It’s a good fit for venues that already run Beat Saber or other music games and want catalog depth in that category.

Review from Bob Cooney's 2022/2023 VR Arcade Game Buyer's Guide:

Synth Riders from VRsenal

VRsenal partnered with Kluge Interactive to bring the highest-rated VR music rhythm game to their new Monolith platform. Synth Riders was the #1 rated game on Metacritic released on PS4 in 2021 — not just VR, but of ANY game. It nails the feeling of riding on the waves of music.

The product launched with 20 songs across multiple genres, with five different skill levels for plenty of replay opportunities. Synth Riders features the new armored Focus 3 headset and a 2-year cable guarantee.
