Valo Motion launches ValoBoard at IAAPA Expo Europe 2026, at ExCeL London from 22 to 24 September, on booth #S2502. It is the fifth product in the company’s line and the first built around a physical controller.
Guests stand on a tilt board. ValoVision, Valo Motion’s full-body tracking system, reads them and puts them into the game shown on screens ahead. They shift their weight to steer, lean to aim and jump to dodge obstacles. Nobody wears a headset, and the attraction runs unmanned.
ValoBoard occupies 15 square metres, or 161 square feet, under a standard 2.7-metre ceiling. blooloop gives that ceiling height as 8 feet 11 inches. Valo Motion says the installation needs no structural modifications and no special flooring.
There are no wearables to hand out and no guest onboarding to staff. Valo Motion also says the unit requires no maintenance.
The VR Collective reported in July 2026 on Fantail Games fitting a mixed reality party attraction into 2m by 3m. That piece used Valo Motion’s ValoArena as one of its comparison points.
Sessions run 2 to 3 minutes. Valo Motion puts the unit at 70 to 74 riders an hour under gated admission using its Rush Hour mode.
Operators can run it on gated admission or pay-to-play. Scheduling, branding and performance monitoring run remotely through Operations Hub, the company’s cloud platform. Each ride ends with a QR code the rider scans for a branded video of the run.
Sunset Skaters is a skating race across three lanes. Trickpunk Snowboarding is a mountain sandbox where each rider picks a path down. Spinblades is a two-player head-to-head battle on a floating platform. It runs in the same 2-to-3-minute sessions Valo Motion puts at 70 to 74 riders an hour. The attraction is rated for guests aged 6 and up.
“Board sports have captured people’s imagination for decades, but experiencing that rush is often out of reach,” said Dr Raine Kajastila, chief executive of Valo Motion. “You need a mountain, an ocean, or years of learning to master them. ValoBoard removes those barriers, making the excitement of board sports accessible to a much wider audience.”
“For our operators, ValoBoard opens up an exciting new category of fantasy board sports,” said Kajastila. “It delivers multiplayer fun on a compact footprint, appeals to a broad range of guests, and runs without staff.”
Valo Motion is showing ValoBoard alongside Groundfall, the product it launched earlier in 2026, at ExCeL London from 22 to 24 September. Kajastila introduces both at a press conference on the booth on Tuesday 22 September at 3:20 p.m. The show falls on the company’s 10th anniversary.
For FEC operators, the published figures are a 15-square-metre footprint, a 2.7-metre ceiling, 2-to-3-minute sessions and 70 to 74 riders an hour with no staff in the cycle. For distributors, ValoBoard is the fifth product in Valo Motion’s line and the first in that line built around a physical controller. For landlords, Valo Motion says the installation needs no structural modifications and no special flooring.
