Virtual Reality Slide, a technology company in Waalwijk, the Netherlands, has launched Titanic VR Snorkelling. The waterproof-headset experience takes swimmers to the wreck of the Titanic. The company installed it at Hof van Saksen, a Dutch holiday resort, earlier in August 2026.
Virtual Reality Slide now sells the system to water parks, pools and holiday resorts worldwide. It is the seventh snorkelling world on a system the company sells as a retrofit for existing pools. Two other suppliers already sell waterproof VR into water parks and resorts: VR Coaster and Ballast VR, which makes DIVR.
Virtual Reality Slide developed and manufactured both the hardware and the software in the Netherlands. Guests wear a waterproof VR headset and a snorkel, and the system runs on custom electronics and NFC. The company says it is one of the only businesses worldwide offering a fully integrated VR solution designed for underwater use.
The Titanic world is set on the night of 14 April 1912, just after the ship went down. Swimmers pass beneath the hull and through the debris field.
“A great VR experience is about much more than visuals. Sound plays an equally important role. That’s why we created a completely new soundtrack for Titanic, allowing guests to become fully immersed in the atmosphere of this extraordinary underwater journey,” said Joeri Dusch, founder of Virtual Reality Slide, which has been fitting VR to swimming pools for nearly ten years.
Each snorkelling theme on the system runs five minutes, according to the company’s product page.
For large European aquaparks, Virtual Reality Slide offers a shared-revenue model with no upfront investment. It also rents the snorkelling system to European pools outright. No price has been disclosed for Titanic VR Snorkelling, and the company does not publish the revenue split or a rental rate.
The six other worlds on the system are SeaWorld, Atlantis, Shark Attack, Space, Gold Rush and Pirates. Two more, Dream Flight and Frozen, are listed for 2027 and 2028. A separate product, the VR Slide system, fits four themed worlds to an existing or new water slide instead of a pool.
VR Coaster built Snorri Snorkling VR for Rulantica, the indoor water world at Europa-Park in Rust, Germany. The attraction opened in 2021. Guests wear VR diving goggles and a snorkel in pools 1.10m deep.
Europa-Park runs the attraction daily and sells it as a €6 add-on in its ticket shop. The park lists the session at about six minutes and puts a maximum of four guests in the water at once across two pools, a theoretical hourly capacity of 40.
The VR Collective reported in July 2024 on Big Dam Waterpark in Texarkana, Texas, installing DIVR after a change of management. Ballast VR calls DIVR the global leader in immersive aquatic experiences.
Operators weighing a pool retrofit have three suppliers to quote, and Virtual Reality Slide’s shared-revenue offer to large European aquaparks needs no upfront investment. Rulantica sells its six-minute session at €6 a guest, with four swimmers in the water at a time. Vendors pitching water parks are selling against a supplier that, by its own account, designs and manufactures its own headsets, electronics and software.
