Activate is an active-gaming venue format from Activate Games of Winnipeg, Canada. A venue is built from interactive light-up game rooms in which teams complete physical and mental challenges, moving from room to room through a session. Sixteen room designs are in the catalogue, including Arena, Grid, Mega Grid, Laser, Mega Laser, Climb, Hoops, Pipes, Push, Trench, Hide, Control, Strike, Portals, Press and Scan.
Each player wears an RFID wristband that tracks scoring across rooms, carries progression between visits, and unlocks levels, achievements and rewards. Games run on adjustable difficulty settings, and venues sell session-based and all-you-can-play access.
The Berlin location, opened August 2026 in the Mall of Berlin as the first in the DACH region, occupies 10,097 sq ft with 11 game rooms and more than 800 levels of challenges. As of August 2026 Activate operated more than 65 locations worldwide, with 30 further openings planned for 2026.
Expansion runs through corporate locations and franchising. Activate’s franchise map allocates territories by country, and some countries are closed to new partners. The Berlin site opened in partnership with VRex Entertainment and Sounds Fun Entertainment.
