Motion simulator cabinet with VR racing gameplay based on Gameloft’s Asphalt 9: Legends. Seven licensed supercars, four game modes, motion simulation, wind jets, and HTC VIVE Pro headset.
Asphalt 9 Legends Arcade VR is a motion simulator cabinet from LAI Games that brings the Gameloft racing franchise into virtual reality. Players sit in a racing seat with a VR headset, steering wheel, and pedals. The cabinet includes motion simulation, wind jets, vibrating speakers, and environmental effects synced to the on-screen action.
The game is based on Asphalt 9: Legends, a mobile and console racing game with over one billion downloads. Players choose from seven licensed supercars including Porsche, Lamborghini, and McLaren. The VR version runs four game modes across four real-world location courses. One mode is Hunted Mode, where players evade police pursuit.
The cabinet displays attract-mode gameplay on a 43-inch Full HD monitor visible to spectators. Two cabinets can be linked for head-to-head multiplayer racing. The unit connects to standard coin, debit card, or redemption systems via a universal connector.
Bob Cooney reviewed a pre-production unit at IAAPA 2021 and noted the motion was smooth and the wind effects added to the sense of speed. He called it the first VR racing simulator that did not cause motion sickness for him. The production version ships with an HTC VIVE Pro headset.
Asphalt 9 Legends Arcade VR suits arcades, family entertainment centers, and venues looking for a branded racing simulator with motion and VR. The global recognition of the Asphalt IP and esports presence may drive repeat play among racing game fans.
