Kitchen Panic! is a cooperative cooking experience set in Parisian restaurant kitchens. Teams of visitors prepare and serve dishes under time pressure, working through multiple kitchen environments with escalating complexity.
The experience follows Chef François as visitors progress from basic kitchens with simple recipes to more demanding environments featuring additional ingredients and kitchen hazards including slippery floors and flaming equipment. Each level requires coordination between team members to manage ingredient preparation, cooking, and plating within customer service windows.
Kitchen Panic! offers four distinct modes. Story Mode progresses visitors through a series of restaurant kitchens, each with unique layouts and menu requirements. Sandbox Mode allows practice in any unlocked kitchen without progression constraints. Infinite Mode presents continuous dish orders until three service failures occur. Arcade Mode scores visitors on preparation speed and recipe accuracy.
The experience runs on standalone VR headsets and supports optional haptic feedback peripherals. Kitchen Panic! is available on the VEX Arena platform, which operates as a turnkey system. The experience accommodates multiple play area configurations from 5×5 meters to 10×10 meters.
