Description

The TactSuit Air is a haptic vest accessory built to add tactile feedback to VR experiences. It’s a lightweight, battery-powered vest with 16 haptic motors that deliver feedback synced to in-game events. Made by bHaptics, it fits a body circumference range of 24–50 inches and runs for 12 hours on a full charge. Recharge time is 2.5 hours.

The vest connects to VR headsets via Bluetooth Low Energy and works with Meta Quest, SteamVR, PlayStation VR2, Pico 4, Pico Neo 3, HTC VIVE XR Elite, and HTC VIVE Focus 3. It supports both native integration and audio-to-haptics modes depending on the platform.

The 16 ERM motors are distributed across the torso to provide localized feedback — hits, impacts, environmental effects. The motors respond to gameplay or audio cues, depending on how the content is set up. For operators running VR attractions, the TactSuit Air adds a physical feedback layer without requiring permanent hardware installation or per-experience customization.

The vest is available in two colors: Onyx and Ash. It weighs 21.5 inches in length and uses a rechargeable Li-ion battery rated at 3.63V, 4900 mAh. The 12-hour runtime is measured at max intensity for 1 second every 10 seconds — actual playtime varies based on usage.

For museums, science centers, theme parks, and immersive attractions, the TactSuit Air works as an add-on to existing VR setups. It doesn’t require complex installation and can be charged between sessions. The extended battery life and quick recharge make it practical for venues running multiple sessions per day.

Cross-platform compatibility means operators can use the same vest across different VR systems. Meta Quest users get native support and wired audio-to-haptics. SteamVR supports native integration, mod support, and wireless audio-to-haptics. PlayStation VR2 supports wired audio-to-haptics. The other supported headsets use similar connectivity methods.

The TactSuit Air is a haptic accessory for operators who want to add physical feedback to VR experiences without redesigning their content or infrastructure. It works with what’s already installed and adds a tactile dimension to storytelling, educational content, and interactive experiences.
