Description

Immotion Entertainment is the retail and tourism arm of Immotion, a motion-based virtual reality attraction company headquartered in Los Angeles, California. It installs in retail shopping centers, tourist destinations, city landmarks, and museums and science centers. Guests wear standalone VR headsets showing a stereoscopic 360-degree film while their seats move in sync with the camera. The seats, headsets and films are supplied as one system in themed turnkey modular enclosures and mini-theaters holding 6 to 12 seats. As of August 2026 Immotion reported more than 150 installations across 22 countries, 3.5 million annual users, and films available in 18 languages.

The lead experience is Thrill Coaster, a virtual reality roller coaster built from live-action drone footage filmed above a city. As of August 2026 city editions covered Miami, Dallas, Sydney, London, Bangkok, Mexico City, Valencia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Auckland and Shanghai, and Immotion offered footage customized to a venue’s own location. Thrill Coaster has operated at Westfield London since November 2023.

Four further titles run on the same installation. Dinosaur Evolution travels back roughly 66 million years to encounter Dakota raptors, Triceratops and Tyrannosaurus rex. Shark Dive covers the behavior of tiger and hammerhead sharks in the waters of the Bahamas. Jinxed is a ghost train ride through a funfair. Elf Power is a Christmas sleigh flight. Immotion also produces a separate library of twelve science and wildlife films for zoos, aquariums, museums and science centers, listed under Immotion Edutainment.

Venues that have hosted the attraction include Westfield London, the Trafford Centre in Manchester, the Sydney Tower Eye, the Mirador Torre Latino in Mexico City, the Museu de les Ciencies Principe Felipe in Valencia, and Stonebriar Centre. As of August 2026 Immotion supplied installations under a shared-profit model. Fast Company named Immotion to its 2026 Most Innovative Companies list.
