Description

Myth of Yggdrasil is a location-based free-roam VR experience developed by Glitch Studios, a VR and AR studio with offices in Oslo, London and Istanbul. It is Episode I of Viking Adventures, a planned three-part series, and is scheduled to launch in Summer 2026.

Groups of up to four players travel through Norse mythology, working together to save the world tree Yggdrasil from the serpent Nidhogg. A Seer entrusts the group with rune stones at the start of the journey, and Ratatoskr, a squirrel from the Norse myths, guides them to Niflheim to face the serpent. The content is written for family audiences.

Sessions run 30 minutes in a 250 m² footprint. A new group can enter every 180 seconds, giving a stated throughput of up to 80 guests per hour. Onboarding and off-boarding routines are designed to keep staffing requirements low. The production runs on a hybrid platform that combines the Spawnpoint operator system with Glitch Studios’ own free-roam system managing guardian, grouping and player flow. It is available on Spawnpoint. Compatible headsets include the HTC VIVE Focus and PICO 4. Language packages are available on demand.

Glitch Studios developed the experience in collaboration with Norwegian historians and Viking scholars, with runes, carvings and longhouses modelled on Viking-era sources. The content suits family attractions as well as museum and culturally aligned venues. Operators receive a marketing asset pack covering artwork, signage, stills, trailers and social content. Distribution agreements include first rights and early access to future episodes in the series.
