Sandbox VR will open its first venue in Spain on 1 October 2026, at Les Glòries in Barcelona’s Sant Martí district. The venue is at Calle Bilbao 140-144, near the Westfield Glòries shopping centre, according to Sandbox VR’s Barcelona page.
AVEVC VR1 Sociedad Limitada operates the venue, according to Sandbox VR’s 24 September release. The release names Alex Pique as the venue’s owner.
The venue will have three private holodecks, Sandbox VR’s name for its play spaces. Each holds a group of up to six guests, so the venue takes up to 18 players at once.
Players wear headsets, haptic vests and motion sensors. They see and physically interact with one another, according to the release. Each group gets a personalised highlight video. A café and bar will serve coffee, beer and snacks.
“We look forward to welcoming friends, families, colleagues and visitors to step into these worlds together, then continue the experience over coffee or a beer,” said Pique.
Sandbox VR’s Barcelona page lists tickets from €39.95 to €44.95 on weekdays until 3pm. From 3pm on Friday through Sunday, it lists €44.95 to €49.95. The venue will open daily from 10am to 10pm. A 20% presale discount runs through 30 September.
The page lists 11 titles for Barcelona. They include Stranger Things: Catalyst and Squid Game Virtuals, both made with Netflix. Age of Dinosaurs was made with the Natural History Museum of London.
Sandbox VR opened its second North Carolina venue at The Station at LoSo in Charlotte on 18 September, run by franchise owner Ritesh Kumar.
