Hero Zone: Where Social VR Meets Real-World Revenue -
HTC’s VIVERSE platform opened The Little Prince: A Fantastic Journey in Taipei on 1 September 2026. The multiplayer free-roam VR production occupies the eighth floor of the National Taiwan Science Education Center. The booking runs to 30 April 2027, an eight-month residency. VIVERSE, the science centre and Weird Radio are billed as the organisers. The same science museum VR exhibit production ran in Hokkaido last winter and is playing two Chinese cities now.
Guests put on VIVE XR headsets and start on asteroid B-612. They move through the physical exhibition space at their own pace, crossing deserts and allegorical planets. The Rose, the Fox and the Pilot appear as interactive characters rather than illustrations. A themed curation space on the same floor turns the book’s characters, lines and imagery into walkable scenes. Each ticket redeems one collectible character card at the end.
Lin Chun-Wu, general manager of VIVERSE, quoted the book’s line: “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.” He said he hoped HTC’s multiplayer immersive walking system would let audiences step into the Little Prince’s world.
Liu Huo-Chin, director of the National Taiwan Science Education Center, described the exhibition as cross-disciplinary. He said it combines literature, humanistic inquiry and technological application. He expects it to bring families, students and readers of the book into the centre.
The centre runs one session an hour, from 9:30am to 4:30pm. That is eight sessions a day. VIVERSE put the piece at 40 to 45 minutes when it launched in Japan. It described the format at that launch as a walk-through for dozens of participants at a time. The Taiwan announcement put early-bird tickets at 20 percent off until 15 September.
The production premiered in Japan as The Little Prince: Call to Adventure. It ran at ES CON FIELD HOKKAIDO from 12 December 2025 to 28 February 2026. Wevr, which rebooted The Blu as a large-scale free-roam experience in Taiwan in July, produced and directed the adaptation. NTT DOCOMO BUSINESS operated the installation, and POMASE holds the Le Petit Prince licence. The VR Collective reported the experience in December and the Japanese launch in March.
“By bringing in content tailored to the scale of each event space, visitors can enjoy a truly immersive walk-through experience that stands out from anything else available,” said Gou Hakomori of NTT DOCOMO BUSINESS.
VIVERSE’s own listing for the title names two more stops. Beijing runs through 3 November 2026 and Hangzhou through 3 January 2027. Taipei’s booking runs almost four months past the later of the two.
HTC funds this kind of content elsewhere. Its VIVE Arts programme supported a mixed-reality piece with the pianist Yuja Wang at the Southbank Centre in July. In February the company backed Atlas V Group to scale location-based VR.
Museum and science-centre operators get a route to an eight-month VR attraction someone else built and toured. Content producers get a licensing record: the same 40-to-45-minute piece has run in Hokkaido and is booked in Beijing, Hangzhou and Taipei. Venue operators have a published cadence to compare against, at eight hourly sessions a day.
