Virtuix sold two Omni One Enterprise systems to the US Navy’s Morale, Welfare and Recreation Liberty Program on 8 September 2026. The systems are for deployment at a US Naval Station in Europe. The Austin company put the price at approximately $15,000 a system. It is the first Virtuix sale into military VR recreation. Its earlier military work centred on training and simulation.
Virtuix builds omni-directional treadmills that let a person walk and run in place through a virtual environment. It trades on Nasdaq as VTIX. The VR Collective reported in January 2026 on the company’s move toward a Nasdaq listing.
Morale, Welfare and Recreation is the US military’s leisure operation: gyms, libraries, bowling centres, trips and games rooms run for service members on base. The Liberty Program is its arm for single sailors, and it operates 68 Liberty and recreation locations worldwide.
An Omni One carries one rider, so the site can run two sailors through the experience at once.
“This first sale to the Navy’s MWR Liberty Program, serving Sailors at 68 installations worldwide, demonstrates another compelling application for Omni One within the U.S. military,” said Jan Goetgeluk, founder, chairman and chief executive of Virtuix.
The company received US Air Force Phase I AFWERX SBIR funding in May 2026. It has a US Marine Corps TECOM partnership with KBR. Omni One is deployed at the US Air Force Academy and at the US Military Academy at West Point. It also runs with the Air National Guard and at Yokota Air Base in Japan. Virtuix also has a cooperative research and development agreement with the Navy.
“Our military programs to date have largely focused on training and simulation,” said Goetgeluk. “This deployment expands Omni One into recreation and entertainment for soldiers and provides an opportunity to demonstrate the platform within a global network of military bases.”
The VR Collective reported in May 2026 that Virtuix had signed its deal with the US Air Force shortly after going public. In July 2026 it reported that NASA had selected an Omni One treadmill for a year-long Mars analog mission.
Virtuix sells Omni Arena, its multiplayer arcade product, into commercial venues.
For hardware vendors, the Liberty Program is a buyer with 68 sites that has now bought location-based VR equipment on a recreation budget. For investors in Virtuix, the sale is two units against a 68-site programme, and Goetgeluk called it an opportunity to demonstrate the platform.
